Welcome to forum

After installing plugin you must activate it.

You must use in your article

Code: [Select]
{player}url_media_file{/player}
Example:

Code: [Select]
{player}http://yoursite.com/video/video.flv{/player}
* You can customize plugin in backend

Extensions - > Plugin Manager - > Content - Media Player

In the new versión 0.0.2 you can use

Code: [Select]
{player w:xxx h:xxx}http://yoursite.com/video/video.flv{/player}
where:

w: the width.
h: is the height.
xxx: any number

Hello!

Sorry for reviving a thread this old, but it seems that there aren't a lot of people which have this problem. This can only mean that there is an easy solution to it. I am still working at my site, and still don't have a valid domain name for it, so I've attached a screenshot of the article with the problem. I tried to add the Media Player module in the article using the solution Daniel gave, but all I can see is the actual code I inserted in the body of the article (no player component):

Code: [Select]
{player}url_media_file{/player}
i.e.
Code: [Select]
{player}http://yoursite.com/video/video.flv{/player}
I tried to edit the HTML code of the article, so in the Article Editor, I pressed the button at the bottom: "Toggle Editor", which showed me the HTML code:
Code: [Select]
<p>{player}http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f5N9r8SgeSc&amp;feature=rec-HM-fresh+div{/player}</p>
<p>test</p>

I'm interested in playing my own flash videos (which will be situated on a certain relative path on my server). I thought there might be a solution to keep a global Media Player module, and when a certain article is clicked in order to be read, the name of the video to sent as parameter to the global Media Player module.
Any help and suggestions are most welcome, I'm out of ideas  :sad:.

Thanks in advance!

Radu

You need to install and enable plugin so that it works in articles.

The global media player that you wish, can be the function of a component. Not yet I have created the component of this player, I hope to do it soon.

Hello!

Yes, you're absolutely right  :laugh:

Just after I wrote my post, I retried installing the module and saw that I also had to install the plugin. Now it works like a charm!

Thanks for you answer!

Cheers,
Radu
